This week, Victor Dandridge (The Hardest Working Man In Comics) and I welcome the creator of one of the most influential Spider-Man stories all time! Set thirty years in Spider-Man's future, on Earth-70237, Spider-Man: Reign features a retired Spider-Man who returns to combat the injustices of a vastly different New York City.
It was billed at the time as the Dark Knight Returns for Spidey fans. And it certainly accomplished at least that similar feel to Frank Miller’s classic.
We go behind the panels with Andrews to get a snapshot of what it took to break in at Marvel at the time, why the editors actually encouraged him not to make comics and the google alert he still gets as a result of the book.
Did X-Men ‘97 Just Save The MCU?
Don’t look now, but the X-Men may have just rescued Disney from superhero fatigue. At least, that’s the buzz on the interwebs these days. And according to Heroic Hollywood, X-Men ‘97 even scored a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score! Go figure!
I, personally, will sit down this weekend to consume the first two episodes that are streaming now (life, work, deadlines and March Madness has delayed me thus far), but if the buzz continues, we may have something to be excited about when Deadpool/Wolverine rolls into theaters in July!

Back The Color Thief Now!
Sire publisher Dren Productions has a new Kickstarter going on for a book called The Color Thief. And having been able to actually read the first issue, I have to tell you how excited I am for the series.
It’s got such a creative high concept and such an “Image Comics” feel to it, I really hope it generates enough buzz to continue past issue #1. Check out the synopsis here:
Onomatopoeia City. The famous clown Arthur Cook has been murdered in a peculiar way: His colors have been stolen! This gives way to an investigation in which the mysteries and secrets hidden by the characters and the city itself will be unraveled. The Color Thief uses the language and resources of comics to immerse us in a peculiar story where genres such as noir, horror and superheroes are mixed.
Take a look at the video below to get a feel for the book. And click here to back the project now on Kickstarter and help get this project off the ground!
